The GTA 6 driving physics model has not been described in an official technical breakdown. Its official Extended Look says the video was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5 and shows vehicles moving through Leonida. The footage lets viewers see the game’s presentation; it does not confirm that handling is a simulation or explain the systems behind it.
What the official footage shows
The released footage and Rockstar screenshot gallery include cars and other vehicles in scenes around Vice City and Leonida. That is evidence of vehicles as part of the game world. Rockstar has not supplied a written feature list describing how the cars accelerate, brake, corner, or respond to different road surfaces.
Trailer shots can show motion, traffic, a vehicle interior, or a pursuit. A short sequence cannot establish the full handling model, whether individual vehicles have different physics, or how a player’s controls will feel across every road and weather condition.
What has not been confirmed
The official material linked here does not confirm weight-transfer calculations, tire-grip simulation, hydroplaning, surface-specific traction, vehicle deformation rules, or performance changes from upgrades. It also does not confirm exact customization effects or frame-rate targets during crashes. The claims in the old version of this article about those features and a “sim-like” driving model had no source from Rockstar, so they have been removed.
That does not prove these features will be absent from the finished game. It means Rockstar has not documented them publicly in the sources checked for this update. Comparisons with Forza Horizon or claims about PlayStation 5 Pro performance should wait for an official feature description or a clearly attributed technical analysis.
Where to follow confirmed details
Rockstar’s official GTA VI site and Newswire are the best places to check for new material. Our guide to what Rockstar has revealed about GTA 6 cars covers the vehicle information separately, while our confirmed facts guide tracks the wider announcement.
GTA 6 driving physics FAQ
Will GTA 6 have realistic driving physics?
Rockstar has not described the handling model in enough detail to confirm that. Official in-game footage shows vehicles, but not the underlying physics rules.
Has Rockstar confirmed hydroplaning or tire-grip simulation?
No such mechanic is confirmed in the official sources linked here.
Does the Extended Look show real gameplay?
Rockstar says it was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. That does not make every visible moment a playable demonstration of vehicle handling.
