The Resident Evil Veronica remake, a remake of the 2000 Resident Evil Code: Veronica, is scheduled for 2027, according to Capcom. The company has confirmed the project and its platforms but has not given an exact launch date. This guide summarizes the announcement and identifies what is still unknown.
What Capcom has confirmed
Capcom’s June 8, 2026 press release uses the title Resident Evil Veronica and describes it as a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, originally released in 2000. Capcom says the remake will preserve the original’s appeal while reimagining its story and using the company’s RE Engine for high-quality graphics.
The press release lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC as platforms. It does not name a specific PC storefront. Capcom’s official announcement-trailer page also describes modernized gameplay, a reimagined story, and detailed graphics.
What is still unknown
Capcom has not announced a specific release day or month. Its release notice says further details will come later, and the cited announcement pages do not provide a price, edition list, or full gameplay breakdown.
Broad descriptions such as “modernized gameplay” do not explain the remake’s camera, controls, combat systems, puzzles, character campaigns, or the precise changes to individual scenes. Those details remain unconfirmed until Capcom shows or describes them.
How the remake relates to Code: Veronica
The new game revisits Resident Evil Code: Veronica, released in 2000. Capcom says it intends to preserve the original’s appeal while reimagining the story. It has not yet explained the full scope of those changes, so comparisons with specific scenes or mechanics should be framed as questions rather than announced features.
