GTA 6 on PC and Steam: What We Actually Know

A GTA 6 PC or Steam release is not confirmed in the official launch information reviewed here. Rockstar’s launch announcements cover PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. A console release date does not establish a PC release window.

Sources checked: October 2, 2026.

Which platforms are officially listed?

Rockstar’s pre-order details and Take-Two’s launch announcement identify PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Neither provides a PC date or PC storefront details in the material reviewed for this article.

Is there a GTA 6 Steam release date?

No Steam date is established by those sources. Predictions about late 2027, 2028 or a simultaneous launch on several PC stores remain predictions. We are not treating launcher updates, alleged backend references or unnamed leakers as a release announcement.

What previous Rockstar PC releases actually show

Rockstar announced GTA V’s PC availability on April 14, 2015. Its later arrival on PC is historical context, not a promise that GTA 6 will use the same schedule.

For Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar’s PC announcement set November 5, 2019, with Steam following in December. The Steam store records December 5, 2019. These were not simultaneous releases across all storefronts.

Are PC system requirements or features confirmed?

The launch sources reviewed here do not provide GTA 6 PC requirements, supported graphics features or mod support. Specifications for another Rockstar game are not GTA 6 requirements. A recommendation to buy a particular GPU for GTA 6 would therefore be premature.

How should PC players follow announcements?

Use Rockstar’s official announcements as the starting point. Before trusting a store listing, beta invitation or download offer, check whether Rockstar links to it and whether the publisher information matches. An unofficial listing or rumor does not establish access to the game.

If you only play on PC, waiting for an official announcement is the clearest way to avoid spending on unsupported assumptions. For console information, see our GTA 6 hub and Game Pass coverage.

Correction: an earlier version incorrectly described past Rockstar PC releases as simultaneous across all stores and gave inconsistent estimates for GTA 6. This update separates official announcements from speculation.
